Ernesto Valenzuela is President of EV Consulting, Inc. (EVCI), with extensive engineering professional experience in offshore and subsea engineering applications for the oil and gas industry.

Education

Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Ocean Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. Graduated in May 1986 with GPA 3.82 out 4. BS and MS degree in Civil Engineering.

MBA from Keller Graduate School of Business of Devry University in Houston; graduated in March 2007 with distinction; GPA 3.92 out of 4.

  • Cameron, Houston, Texas - USA; stress analyst and advanced product engineer.
  • Aker Engineering, Houston, Texas - USA; principal engineer on mooring and riser projects.
  • ExxonMobil, Houston, Texas - USA; third party verification for the high pressure drilling riser for the Diana Spar project in the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Chevron, Houston, Texas - USA; TTR engineer for Genesis Spar Project in the Gulf of Mexico. Responsible for riser global performance specifications; supervision of riser analyses performed by Stress Engineering, Inc. and ERC Inc. Interfaced with vendors for design of subsea wellhead, bottom connectors, riser stress joint and keel joint designs.
    TTR Engineer for Agbami surface tree alternative solution to FPSO. 
    UFR Engineer for Frade Project, offshore Brazil; supervised Wellstream, Oceaneering, and Acergy on the design and installation of the flexible FPSO turret riser system, including umbilicals.
    Subsea Pipeline & Umbilical Specialist for Chevron Energy Technology Company.

US and Canada Patent granted in August 1989 and August 1992 respectively, for the invention of the “Caisson Tower Platform and Method of Setting Same.”
